John Denove is a founding member of Trial Lawyers’ Charities. Trial Lawyers’ Charities is a non-profit organization founded, funded and maintained by attorneys in Los Angeles. Mary Bennett and John Denove support Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship. Ride On teaches horseback riding to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. Ride On offers hippotherapy which emphasizes therapy and always involves a licensed physical, speech or occupational therapist. Wilkie Cheong has served on the Advisory Board and Building Committee of the Los Angeles Branch of the American Heart Association and has volunteered his legal services to the Association. Mr. Cheong currently volunteers his services as a legal advisor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society-Southern California Chapter. Members of Cheong & Denove have been fighting for the rights of consumers in California by reviewing proposed legislation, speaking with legislators and battling the insurance industry that attempt to pass laws that limit the rights of the injured to seek just compensation. Cheong & Denove organized one of the largest demonstrations in California history against insurance sponsored initiatives. These initiatives, fortunately, were voted down.

Cheong & Denove is the general counsel for The Lorraine Jackson Foundation. The Foundation’s primary mission is to provide scholarships for secondary education for children who have lost a parent to breast cancer. The Foundation, through Pearls of Hope^TM, raises money by donations, an annual Golf Classic and the annual Pearls of Hope Awards and Scholarship Gala.

The Foundation also honors individuals and companies that have led the fight against cancer. Current scholarship recipients are attending UCLA, Tufts University and Georgetown University.
